I like orchid bark. I buy it at the chain hardware stores in great big bags for a few bucks.

- orchid bark? I haven't seen that stuff in large bags before, just the small bags... Is it similar to medium mulch?

You can buy coconut coir of amazon for super cheap, I got like ten blocks for 15 bucks total.
