My marginated tortoise had a clear gel like and shaped like a ball discharge while peeing. The size of the gel ball is almost like a one cent coin. Totally soft and transparent. Hope the picture shows what kind of substance it is. She is in great health. Feeding and roaming around and no change of behavior at all. Any one a clue what this could be?

Hi Jensbe:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

What would you like us to call you?

...and may we know appx. where in the world you are?

Sometimes mucousy discharge means the tortoise has flaggelates (a type a parasite like amoeba, etc.). Its easily treated. Take a fresh stool sample to the vet and tell him what is suspected so he knows what he's looking for.

And then again...it may be nothing at all.
