I recently bought some fake plants as decoration to help keep my tort exploring, I buried them in his substrate but is it safe?
Will he try to eat them or will he be unable to chew them?
They are made from plastic

I'm not entirely sure but I myself would never use fake plants as tortoises (At least from my experience) generally do bite anything that seems edible, and they do have quite strong jaws so they could probably bite leaves off of the fake plants.

So I would not recommend using them.

Instead, check the tortoise plant database and get some edible plants for your enclosure.

However you don't need to throw away the fake plants as they can be used for decoration outside the enclosure or places that your tortoise can't reach.

Some torts seem to nibble at fake plants, some ignore them.
I don't use them myself but others do with no problems.
If you try it, just keep an eye on the situation.
