Is that st augustine grass?

I don't know what kind of grass it is. I don't have a lawn. Just some nice soft tall new grass that grows on its own this time of year on my side yard. Always been a nuisance before. Kind of nice now. I cut it into 1 inch (3 bite) pieces and they power through it.

I went out to a part of my lawn I knew was st augustine and pulled some clippings. In comparison It sure looks like st augustine. Here in florida people pay a lot of money for it. I think you are in san diego and from what I looked up there is a similar looking grass called Kikuyu. Almost looks identical.

For some reason St. augustine is one of the few things Maddie turns her nose up at. If I was a turtle I think I would like it. It sure looks tasty.
