Christmas tree box lid

Hello, does anybody have a picture of how they made the Christmas tree box lid work for a tortoise enclosure? I am moving my hatchling into a bigger enclosure but I'm not sure how to make the lid work. My computer isn't working so I can't do a search on the site, I'm just using the app. I would just like some ideas before I start cutting

It looks like what he did was cut a hole slightly larger than the diameter of the lamp, and attached an aluminum plate.(I'm assuming for heat resistance and dissipation?) Then screwed the lamp to the plate, and the plate to the enclosure.
