I just received my baby tortoise Frankie today! Yay! He lives indoors in my room near a window. Unfortunately its supposed to storm tonight. I was wondering if the thunder would frighten him? If so is there anything I could do?

No, tortoises do not become scared of a storm, they are wild animals no matter how many times they are bred in captivity so instinct allows them to understand what they are. In fact, many Hermann's will actually enjoy a storm or rain shower and become active during or just after them. One word of advice though, I highly suggest you move your tortoise away from the window. While they are able to withstand a wide range of temperatures even as babies, they are very susceptible to drafts. Even with brand new, state of the art windows, there are drafts. Believe me I worked in construction for years and just because you may not feel a draft, does not mean they don't. When they're that tiny, they feel things we can't. Even when it's warm outside, drafts can occur.
