Hello I am blind and very new to this forum and two on the mean tortoises anyways I was planning on making some purchases for my tortoise he is a mail Russian and I was wondering what exact style of light bulbs do I need and also if heating pad would be smart to purchase any other suggestions for purchases heart greatly appreciated as well thank you

No heating pads and no compact florescent light bulbs.
Every pet store sells this stuff and neither are recommended.
For uvb, some use a florescent strip lamp and a ceramic heat emitter for heat and some members use a mercury vapor lamp. They provide both heat and uvb.
I'm not honestly too familiar with Russian care or your location or type of enclosure. You'll have to decide how much you need.
