We have a pretty good seed shop close to home, and I was wondering, if I wanted to grow some grass for max, what types would be best?
Thanks.

Russians are not grass eaters. Grow lots of broadleaf weeds for him instead.

Ok, thanks. I thought maybe something might be beneficial. Weed seed is not so easy to come by. Give me a few months and l 'll be complaining about all my weeds...never there when you want em.

Actually my yard is weed free the tortoises do a pretty good job of weeding, I have considered hiring them out. Try dandelions, and mallow, they should bhe easy to find and grow. I do have st. augustine in my russian pen, bit it is never touched.

You can buy seed mixes from tortoise supply.com or Carolina pet supply.com's that are specifically made for Russian tortoises.
