I just bought two more succulents at Walmart today. A sedum and a new type of jade plant I didn't have. They have had these stocked for more than three months now, and I heard that the retail stores aren't the ones that use pesticides. So are they safe to put in my yearling's enclosure? And how should I change the root medium? There is so much root I can't really get the plant out of it's current growing medium.

I would wait for an entire growing season and then offer them....yeah yeah, some say that is extreme...but this is my practice and just sharing with you....also, this is a really fleshy plant that can soak up alot...so I would especially wait....

Others will off their take as well...

Personally, I have been too afraid to feed any succulents that weren't grown by someone I know or have existed in an unsprayed yard for a long time. If it were me, I'd still use them for decoration (out of tort reach) but not food.
Let's see what others suggest.
