At lowes today I saw this plant, I am redoing my back yard with a new turtle pond and tortoise area as well as an area for the dogs. I saw this really interesting looking plant that I would love to put back there but does anyone know if the sullys can eat it???

Its called an "african butterfly iris" this is a pic of the flower

That is quite beautiful! Looks either a variety of or related to the Siberian Iris (iris sibirica). The closest thing I could find on tortoisetable is the water iris and it says "do not feed".

We use a very similar clump grass here that the nursery calls "Yellow Iris" that has these flowers (or some very similar) show up on the larger clumps of grass. Our bigger sulcatas ate them without any issues, but I mostly use them on the smaller torts now. They're cheap, but not cheap enough to be planted and eaten in a half hour. During a certain season, they sell the 1 gallon size for something like $1.99 here (about 36" height).
