It's a spiny sow thistle. Safe; related to dandelions.
Your closeup of the flowers and leaves are nice and clear, thank you, it really helps with identification. If you could add one more photo--one of the entire plant--the next time you find one, even better!

Excellent thank you. Ya know, even though there are plenty of plan identifying posts and images , sometimes I just cant decide what my plant is there are so many variations. Thanks for the info.
For sure, when they are all tall, green, and eventually have yellow or perhaps white flowers that turn puffy, it's a struggle!
Soon enough you'll find one that makes us scratch our heads.
