Picked up a nice pair of Amazon basins at the reptile show. Quite large. Each specimen weighs around 20 pounds and measures 19" scl. Hope these guys keep growing. For sure needed the larger male for an already large female we have that lays loads of infertile eggs every year.

Male and female they are a lot bigger in the flesh. Awesome coloration too.

Hopefully this large male will fertilize our large female. Our 2 small Amazon basins I raised up from 4" aren't doing the trick yet! Lol

Thanks Kelly. Do the males do battle regularly, does he have large gular scutes?
Not really. But they will bite and intimidate males or females. I have an alpha male that has to be kept alone or with one particular female. He doesn't act aggressive towards her at all for some reason. He's bitten off scales and made the other small male bleed at the neck before. Only time I have ever encountered such a thing in this species, is that one male. His name is toad (because he's a horny toad and always dominating to breed).

Beauties! Were these CB or WC? How large is your female that lays infertile eggs?
