Today was medical day, LOL. Most of our females get mated on a regular basis and normal shell wear occurs. Several times a year we clean and treat the the most worn areas. Breeding season is getting ready to go wide open, therefor today was the day. We place the female on buckets in order to stabilize and immobilize them while we are treating the areas. This has proven to work exceptionally well with our mature females. They are very use to us doing this and tolerate it very well, no stress or discomfort, except for my back from picking them up and placing them on the buckets, LOL. This picture is of Peanut, she is usually very popular with the males during this time and her shell gets worn more than most. Thought this would be a good picture to share!

What do you apply to the shells to protect them?
