Administering flagyl to a baby

Does anyone have any tips on giving flagyl to a tiny tort? He's not eating, so mixing in his food doesn't work. I can't open his mouth to put a syringe in. He won't try to bite or even open his mouth at all. He's tiny, and I don't want to injure him.
