So, I'm planning on building an enclosure top to ward off any predators for hopefully a future tort. Thinking of going with 2X3s as opposed to 2X4s for a sleeker, cleaner, look. But worried if it will be strong enough. I plan to make a series of 4'X4' hinged doors with corner braces for extra support. Can any more experienced DIYers chime in?

Should be just fine. I use 2x3s all the time. Not much difference between a 2x3 and a 2x4 structurally. I use them to save a little weight in my night box lids.

Perfect. Thats exactly what I was going for. Ease of swinging the lid while still being structurally strong. Thanks for the input Will
