Sorry guys, just wanted to put this out there, my hatchling Hermanns tortoise named Tuba has recently passed away last night. I just felt like I should say something.
It was only 70 degrees out today, I don't think he would over heat in that, considering his enclosure is already around 70 and around 90 in the hot spot
So, recently, i took my baby hermanns tortoise outside to enjoy the sun while soaking. When I dried him off, i noticed while he was breathing through his nose, i could see some little bubbles that would go in and out. Is he sick, or is this normal. And what could have caused this to happen?
I have a 100 watt bulb about 10 inches above the substrate. He is in a wooden enclosure, 3 ft by 2 ft. Cypress mulch bedding. Food, water. Temps is low 80s hot spot around 90-95. I dont use a heat pad though, risk of fire with the wood.
