We do get one cat visit occasionally but he mostly seems interested in the bird box. I've never seen the cat even notice Timmy before

That's a question I wanted to ask: those of you who's torts live outside and have a water dish or bath of some description for them to use at their leisure do you still bath your torts yourselves every so often or do you just trust them to do it themselves when they need it?

    Timmys home

When it's a hot day and I'm watering the garden he'll often wander over and have a shower and when he's had enough he'll wander off again but with rain it's different, like you say because he gets cold he just stays where is. Daft thing. Well I did a lot of research when we got him and...

    Timmys home

Thank you. My grass looks rubbish this year I need to try and sort it out. I know a lot of people use dog houses as night houses for their torts, I think they're ideal. The only reason I made one myself was because I wanted to incorporate a shelter from the rain into it but the silly thing...

    Help!!!!!!!! (tort won't use ramp)

I would say extend it so it's not as steep, put sides on so he can't fall off but also put a layer is substrate on it too it might make him feel a bit more comfortable to go up it.

I also have some other plants dotted around the garden that he can eat but they...

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, I have posted in the introductions section for anyone that's interested. I am looking for advice on lawn care because Timmy my 12 year old (I think) Hermanns has the whole garden to himself but my lawn needs some TLC but obviously I don't want to do anything...

    Introducing Timmy and me

Thanks all. Thanks Big Charlie there are plenty of hiding places for him in the garden and he keeps getting better at using them. I often have to search the whole garden 4/5 times to find him. And sometimes I don't succeed! It amazes me how much character torts have. He used to spend ages...
