I have absolutly no problem breeding for genetic morphs. I do hope however that there will be more people breeding for pure strains be it tortoises, fish, birds, or mammels.

I think Tortuga needs a shot of testosterone :rolleyes:, just not interested in mating with Irie yet. On a side note today was the first day this year were there was enough sun and high enough temps to let them out to play.
And then you have seperate but closely related species that can breed with one another creating (fertile) hybrids that can then reproduce with each other or back to their parents. Botanist had a heck of a time in the 1800's naming North American pitcher plants there was so much back crossing.
The problem with scientist is they want to group things into neat little packages and nature just doesn't give a hoot about such things. Hear in the PNW some biologest want to seperate salmon not only by species but by individual river systems. A species might be abundent in many river systems...
Knowing how people keep their torts would be good but it is not always black and white. Right know my torts are outside in a tortoise table under the carport with heat lamps. Lights go on at night when the temps are coldest and then go off during the day when outside temps are warmest. The table...
I heard somewhere that cats can eat dog food but dogs shouldn't eat cat food, cat food is hard on their kidneys. In that regard when I occasionaly feed my boxies a canned product I make sure its dog food and not cat food. Since this thread mentions cat food so much I must disagree and say dog...
I'm into carnivorous plants, like hunting and fishing, watching football, watching my kids do anything, and of course taking care of my turts/torts.
