Hey everyone, im not sure what this is or why this is but my russians scales on his feet are falling off? Hes a rescue so im not sure of any past medical problems or such. Is this natural or should i be worried? Please respond asap! Thanks :D
it's really quite strange; Ive never seen him really acting this way, I'm not really worried just curious more than anything. Maybe not enough vitamin c? or some sort of hydration?
the reptisun 10.0 is tube not coil. i never used a coil type, i use the 10.0 for all my reptiles. he ate all his food today and basked, just now hiding all day today.
his enclosure is 6x2, and his basking spot is about 92-95 and his cool side is roughly 78 ish. His UVB (reptisun 10.0) was new in january-feb. he eats just on his own terms, picks a little then comes back periodically throughout the day, he seems to eat less in the summer as he does towards...
Hey guys, super weird thing has been going on with my tort sheldon. Whenever i go to give him his food he has completely burrowed himself under his water dish and cover the burrow behind him. This has never happened before in the year ive had him. Any thoughts on this? id love to figure out...
Hey everyone! I have my russian tortoise indoors and I was wondering what would be a could layout for his enclosure. That way it isn't boring for him and or boring to look at :D any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have a zoo med food dish, its about 4 inches by 4 inches, and i fill it pretty well. I give a variety of kale, radicchio, leafy greens, and the occasional hibiscus flower. I may give him more tomorrow and see if he eats more than what i put out for him.
Hey Everyone! After setting up sheldon in a new enclosure, hes has been ravaging for food all day, he eats all i put out and still wants more food after that! Ive had him for almost a year now and he has never done this. Should i feed him more? :D
thanks for all that great info! I just mound made some mounds and added some rocks for now! He seems more "entertained", lets hope this hold until I can extend the enclosure :D
Wow thanks for all the advice! I lowered the temps a bit and he calmed down alot, im going to start by making his enclosure 6 feet long, i have to find a place for him since it wont fit in my bedroom. Once it begins to warm up a outdoor enclosure will set up :D do you leave the tortoise outside...
Yes hes a russian, hes about 4 1/2 inches, I would have him outside right now if it wasn't 43 degrees outside :) im going to extend this enclosure. How big should his outside enclosure be once weather allows?

I love this idea! I want to do that, except maybe 2X6 since i dont have 8 feet in my room lengthwise for him XD but i love that idea, i have a 55 gallon aquarium for my bearded dragon which is about 5 feet long but only 1 foot and a half long, and its glass so idecided not to use that :) how...
He is in a 40 gallon breeder, its all i can afford. I would let him roam around my room for awhile but my dog tends to sneak up here un expected. I just want the best for my guy, hes a rescue too.
