He? She? Ages?

I have this two Radiated tortoise for about a year now.

The plastron are about 8 inches for both of them.

Can anyone estimate how old they are and the sex of them?? My wife and I are just wondering......We shall get a male? or few females if we like to breed them in the future? Thanks.

I'm bad at guessing but I would say male then female...

I'd say both female.

Looks like two female to me.

They are probally both females, but still to small. Is the anal scute still smooth on the first one? Only way to know will be endoscope till about 11" or you get flashed. Age between 3-5 years depending on stock line.

If they are the wrong sex for you, I will gladly take them off your hands. It's terrible getting stuck with a sex you don't want

Thank you for your reply. That is what we kinda guessed. We will wait for few more years and may to get a male to see if we may able to breed them.

Btw, how lucky if you got two females. At least in the leopards, it seems females are much harder to come by. At least finding them for sale. One male and your good to go, lucky you

Thank you Barb. I know. If they both turnout to be females. I may start to looking for a male in similar size or age.

If God permits, few years from now, I may like to start to breed them.

What would be the ideal time for a rad to breed? Some says it takes 16 years to mature?

Yep I agree. Very tough visually sexing radiata especially this size.

No.....You gave me way too much credit. I bought four yearling. The are cute and so active.

My wife love them.....

May I ask who you bought your Burmese stars from? They are one of my dream torts!!!!
