She's a boy!

Thank goodness I've read threads about the sulcata male organ. I can see why it scares people! I was taking Terry out of her (now his) bath and he flashed me. Quite the surprise!
Could this at all narrow down his age? All we know is the previous owner had him 6 months but there was at least one other owner before that.

How big is he? Carapace length, that is.

He is 10 inches long and 2.56kg. He came to me so unhealthy I'm sure he's much smaller than he could and should be. I wasn't sure if they sexually mature and start flashing related to age at all?

Congrats on knowing what he is. Love the pics. I'm sure he is smaller for his age if he was in that bad of condition and with the pyramiding, he was started wrong that's for sure. Unfortunately they would only be guesses on the age, nothing you could count on.

I had a feeling the age of maturing fluctuates at much as any size/age correlation.
Now to just get in the habit of saying he...
