Can we have a pic of you cutting the grass with scissors:D. I sure hope Bob is okay. I would have to agree, it's probably the scales that were off. Heck, I know every time I go to the docs to be weighed, its never right, except it weighs me being off in the other direction:mad:.

Maggie: I'm sure he's fine! Those electronic scales at the doctor's office are pretty tricky. You have to be sure it zeros out before you put the animal on it. Plus, someone may have been holding him a bit to keep him in place. A slight pressure from someone's hand would skew the weight.

Thanks. I know my weight, but being as it's a feed store I thought I'd grab a bag of dog food off the shelf. A 40 pound bag should weigh 40 pounds...then I will do the same at the Vets. I will use the Vet's as it's 35 miles closer..I.'m going to get to the bottom of this, and no, Bob's food consumption does not fall off in the winter. He is still catered to, it's just the food is a little different.
I keep my front lawn longer, then I cut it with scissors, that's the basis of his breakfast...and I go from there. No blooms anymore, some leaves, but he'll eat the fallen leaves so that's a part too. He's fed good darn it.

LOL....I made this statement referring to the temperature change creating his outside lounge and grazing time being less during the cold time..not that I ever thought you did not offer him GOBS of goods during winter....:) He clearly is King of the pile....this is obvious in his eyes and overall appearance....

wellington...this is for you.
First is my equipment...container, scissors and knee pad...

Next I cut. My right hand does not work very well so I hold the scissors with my right hand, and close the blades with my left. Only this time my left was holding a camera...

He gets grass, Rose of Sharon leafs, grape leafs, mulberry leafs (Thanks Jacqui) and dandelions for breakfast. Everything, I cut, pull, or pick by hand...IMG_3787.JPG IMG_3788.JPG IMG_3789.JPG

Lunch will have Mazuri too, and an evening snack of squash or the like, tonight it's a pumpkin I grew for him. And he only weighs 112??? Please!

You said Bob is also 17, right? Do they continue gaining weight all their lives?

Yes they do! They may not sustain huge growth spurts...but they do grow continuously!
