Finally took a pic of my 4 Eastern Box Turtle Hatchlings. They are a week old now and so far are doing fine and eating moist cat food and meal worms, every other day......as that is what they preferred. Hope this picking eating is not going to be all winter. Reminds me of a grandson who was the same Way.
These hatchings still are size of quarter, maybe a tad bigger. They are so darn cute, especially BUG. He is the left top of photo. They all have different markings on their back, so that's how I know who is who. Thought of the name of the one on bottom left. That is Zippy. For a little guy or girl, takes off faster than the others. Have 2 more to name......How long with these babies take before we can sex them ? I have just been calling them " HE"....'
I have this precious female, that is so sweet, when she see' s me coming or hear my voice, she runs so fast, she tripped herself to get to me. Her name is "Jo-Jo", she is the smallest of my Boxies. Would she be an Eastern like my others?. She is the only one with these markings. Would really appreciate if anyone here would know, so I will know.
Thanks in advance for any info. :tort:

They are still young to tell but:
Males tend to have longer tales than the females, and the females tend to be bigger in size than the male.

Hope this helps
