Someone told me to rub small amount of Vaseline in the tortoise's shell which help to moisture the shell and carapace. How true is that statement ? Is it safe on doing so?

Better to use a vegetable oil, but it's not necessary. Some tortoise keepers are concerned about the potential for reduced UVB absorption. However, given that vegetable oils are not effective sun blocks, I don't think this should be a great concern.

Today after I soak him in the morning, I heard my rads sneeze twice and saw some bubble on one of the nostril.. I quickly put him under the UVB lights.....

I normally use filtered tap water to soak him and wash him after eat. I would say the water is around 29 to 30 degree c cause it's in Malaysia... Should I soak and clean him with hotter water?????

I never use warm water to soak my radiateds. What u mean by wash your radiated? You mean wipe them clean everyday? That'll be stressful for the tortoises i guess. Lol

I would suggest you to not worrying too much. Just feed them with high calcium low phosphorus and protein greens, extra vitamin and calcium, keep them at a optimum temp (which is easy if u live in KL), and try not to play with them too much. They are a Hardy species anyway if all their requiremnts are met.

About the buble on the nostrils, beware of RNS.
