What is the right humidity for a horsefield

I was advised to get a 100w che and baby Zeus is only 7 month old. I worry about the humidity too and what to do with the lights and heat at night. I obviously turn the UVB light off but worry about the basking light as I live in the uk and the temperatures drop. Please help....

It's a 2ft open top enclosure with a UVB strip light and I had a 50w red backing light which I have broken today, so I went to a local store and they have provided me a 40w day/heat light. The manager said that the red basking lights aren't the best for tortoises.

Your question is very debatable and you will get all sorts of different answers. They can survive anything from 2% to 100%. Small growing tortoises will benefit from higher levels of humidity as this helps them properly grow and form the keratin that makes up their shells. I don't worry so much about the numbers. I just make sure and provided the condition that will allow them to create their own micro climates. I offer deep damp coco coir so they can burrow, and I offer humid hides for them to sleep and hang out in, but my ambient humidity in the room is relatively low.
