What turtle is this?

Hi what turtle is this?

a musk turtle

It looks like it might be a three keeled mud turtle. Cute little thing.

I concur with Yvonne they have that little 'hump' on their shells, and are that interesting gray black color.

Take a picture of the bottom of it shell.

I think it is an adult male reeves turtle.The shape doesnt look like mud. some male reeves turtle turns melastic when aged.

Definitely not an American turtle. Enchilada is closest, I think. More pics would be helpful

I'm waiting to hear back from my friend. She has one. I know they live in brackish water but she's had hers for years in regular fresh water. They're endangered in the wild. She ended up with hers after it was a class pet in kindergarten. I'll let you know when I hear back.

diamond back terrapin looks totally different...

The skin made me think that and sometimes the diamond backs don't all have that design on the shell.

Looks like a Reeve's to me.. first turtles I ever hatched - back then.. when Anthony was a kid!



Has nothing to do with brackish water.. from the waters in China.
