Hi everyone, i'm Mia and I am having a pretty hard time deciding which tortoise to get... It's going to be my first and there are few I'm interested in. :) Probably going to be a Russian.

Hello, and Welcome:) Russians are a great beginner choice. Just remember though, that just because they are smaller, they still need lots of space, in the wild they would cover lots of ground.

Hi and welcome. Good luck with your decision, horsefields are cheeky little tortoises that love to climb and dig. Little tortoise with big personalities. I have 2 Hermann girls, love them to bits. Did have step daughters Horsefield but had to sell for her yesterday, he was lovely, cried loads when he went.:tort::)

They are very hardy tortoises Hermanns. Love them to bits. My little Pippa who is actually 3 years old have had from 2 months of age was size of 10p english coin, has always been little darling never a problem with her. Kyra little bit quieter my 4 year old girl, she quite big. Pippa was out in her run the other day in the rain, she loves it. They have greenhouse for night time obviously shut them in at night due to size and predators. Open let out again first thing. Stay outside all Summer til cooler weather then bring them in for winter as have not hibernated yet as young still. They have 4ft x 4ft table for winter, which they love.

Welcome to the forum! Russians and Hermanns are seen as the best and easiest for beginners but dont under estimate them! Make sure you do your research! :p
