Hi Michele:

Put up fliers on the utility poles around the neighborhood where the tortoise was lost. Put an ad in the lost and found on craigslist, and in the classified section of the newspaper. The more publicity you get out there, the better the chance someone is going to remember you if they ever see a tortoise wandering around.

(Welcome to the Forum! I hope you find him)

Hello and Welcome:) Wish it were on better terms. Make sure you look under every bush, get on hands and knees and feel. Make sure you look in the morning, after the sun has come up. He/she will need and want to warm up. Keep looking, never give up. Many have found theirs after quite some time. Good luck, keep us posted.

Hi I live 10 minutes outside of Scranton pa. Jude is a Russian Red Footed tortoise. We kept her inside in a very lg tank. But the day she got away she was in our back yard in a gate enclosure. But my daughter went in the house for a short while and Jude pushed open the gate and got away :(

If you live in suburban type setting check any place there maybe a corner or anything they may be able to hide under leaves ,grass piles ,porches, they have the mind set that if they cant see you that you cant see them, if your yard is fenced in check to see if there is anywhere she could of dug into couldnt hurt to put some food out either ( hoping always helps). If you live in the country you will have to pretty much look everywhere under leaves against logs or large trees , ditches if there is like an indent in the ground or looks like the leaves were disturbed couldn't hurt to look, my two tortoises love to dig in as soon as they are in the yard. again best wishes on your search!
