Hi all. Just bought a vacation home in Little River SC and reaching out to those in the know about these plants. Pics attached. First one is dandelion right? We're from NY.

Hmmmm.
Redbud hazel, Disanthus cercidifolius ?
Maybe ?
If so it's probably okay in moderation as one of the witch hazel family but I am far from certain.

I'm pretty sure that's dollarweed Hydrocotyle umbellata.
I don't know if this is safe or not.

Yes, it's dollarweed and yes it's safe. I've purchased it a couple of times for my Russian, so a bundle of cut stems and leaves. It was difficult for her to manage those thin, stringy stems. She will eat them if the stems are cut off.

I don't think a larger tortoise would have any problem with them. Additionally, If the dollarweed is growing in the yard, I don't think a small tortoise would either, as in that case it could just bite the leaf clean off the stem.

In SC, it seems more likely that the woody plant would be Cercis, rather than the Asian Disanthus.
Can you recall anything about the flowers?
The other exotic candidate would be kadsura : Cercidiphyllum
