Its either a male or a female. I'm sure of it! :p

Its looking pretty female ATM, but still on the small side to be 100% sure. I'd love to see the carapace.

I was thinking the same as Tom, female. However, I have a male that looked female until around 5 years old then the male of him showed up. Could still possibly go male. Is the bottom shell concaved at all? Only males will concave. But again, it took my male mentioned above until 5 to concaved and it's still not as concaved as the other male.

They're both right it could swing either way, but it does appear to be female. For now! "dun dun dun"

I forgot to mention, you have a very beautiful leopard tortoise! Good luck in raising him/her.

As others have said, it looks female. While it's possible that we are wrong and it is a male, it is just not probable, in my judgment, given the tail shape and size.

It's looking incredibly female . Another 1-2" of growth should prove that to be the case or not. I'd almost bet money that it was female

Out of curiosity, in general, what is more desirable? Male/Female?

I get that it's situational, but I'm sure one is more desirable than the other in the trade.

Maybe better suited question for the debate section...

For leopards I would assume males, because they're generally smaller.

Most people prefer females because they are the baby tortoise factories.

It is situational. For me, the males are more desirable. A good breeder male leopard tortoise is hard to come by, and most keepers who have them tend to hang on to them. I suspect this is primarily due to the lopsided number of males vs. females that exist. I would guess that females out-number males by a relatively large margin. The smaller and less aggressive males are usually what you will see someone trying to offer for sale.

 I guess I was wrong, that makes a lot more sense.

I am happy that I have a male. @Jodie 's egg bound female stories gave me nightmares!

But if you provide what they need it is less likely. She was living in a bathtub before I got her. Since the surgery she has laid 14 clutches. No muss, no fuss. I like males too though. I find them to be more outgoing in general.

I've owned a female leopard for 14 years. She's lovely to look at, and in the heat of the summer, she stomps all around the yard and comes up to my back door looking for food. She eats readily from my hand, loves being misted with a hose, but detests being pet. Kind of a downer, but hey, that's just her. I picked up a 3 y/o male about six months ago, who I keep in a separate space in my back yard. He was initially very shy, but he has flourished into a very amicable and social tort. He runs to me when I go in his area, and wiggles his little rear end when I scratch his shell. I understand that a lot of times he's looking for a handout, but there are plenty of times when I'll sit down on the ground with him with food in hand, and he'll run over and just park next to me and take a scratch.
I check fauna regularly, and females almost always garner a higher asking price than males. Financially, it seems that females are more "desirable". In my experience, and what others have posted here on this forum

Whoops....(cont'd) In my experience, and what others have posted here on this forum, is that males tend to be more personable. I find that trait to be highly desirable. Yet, as I write this, I see my big female's avatar picture, (which puts a smile on my face) and I have a difficult time thinking that I may like my male more than her. So the answer for me is resoundingly yes, it's situational.
