Sorry if this is posted somewhere else.
Will torts chew on or scratch walls of enclosures? Don't want to accidentally poison my tortoise. Also planning his hide out of the same material.

Hi Tom, outdoors, in the grass under some shade trees, movable, open top with chicken wire for extra hawk security, with a hide in the corner..for my Herrmans..lil guy bout 6" at the moment...

Daily enclosure, I'll take him in after a few hours...never overnight, etc. Depending on time of day, the enclosure will be big enough to have 70-80%sun.

I use only pressure treated on my Redfoot enclosures. I've never had any ussues. Never seen any animal nibble on the wood.
Even decades back when THE PT lumber still cotained arsenic. Never an issue.

For this application, I think PT wood will work great.

Also, just be aware that chicken wire will stop a hawk, but it won't stop a dog, if you have one. I prefer to use welded wire for this purpose. 1x2" is pretty stout.
