Looks like a baby box turtle...where are you located?? He could be native to your area.

I agree, it looks like a juvenile one or two year old box turtle. I would guess Gulf Coast Box Turtle. So, now I'm curious to know if my guess is right, what region of the country do you live in?

If box turtles are native to your area, best thing you can do for the species is put him back where you found him and let him be a wild turtle. Because of his small size, it's a good bet that a bird dropped him in your yard.

Where are you? I lost my tortoise, Kyle, in October or November of 2016. I looked for him for months, this looks like him. He's a Russian Tortoise. Please tell me where you found this turtle.
