I currently am using the 250w Aqueon Pro aquarium heater to keep a pretty constant water temp.... well, that was on my 60g .... should I add another one since I just upgraded to the 120g? In the water are 2 red ear sliders and 4 big ol goldfish.... the water (in the 60g) stayed about 75 ..... wasn't sure since if the 250w was sufficient.... or I should throw another one in there for each end? The water seems to still be measuring 75deg currently on the new 120g... (with the single heater)

It depends upon how warm you keep the room in which the tank is located. To keep a tank 10° above ambient temp, you would need about 5 watts per gallon. Two heater in a tank that size would be better also. Since you already have a 250 watt, you could add a 300 watt for the other end. That should work for you. If your room for the tank gets down to 65° at night, you may be see a little drop in water temp, but that would work. When I get to the point where I am needing much more wattage than that for tanks - it starts becoming cheaper to keep the room temperature up a bit.

Sounds good to me!! I was leaning the way as to add another heater ... I will grab up a 300w .... I guess it would help the other one not to require it to work so hard as well anyway :).... we could all use a little help not to work so hard. haha
