Hello Avril

Can you post photos of your enclosure and lighting please? They will help us to spot problems.

The usual reason for failure to eat is temperatures being wrong.

What temperature do you have: warm side, cool side, directly under the basking lamp and overnight minimum.

Your tort must be able to bask at 35C/95-100F in order to be active and digest food.

Do you soak your tort? While it is not eating you should do so twice a day for at least 30 minutes each time in warm water. Use a high sided, flat-bottomed bowl that your tort can't see over or through - a washing up bowl is ideal.

Temperatures are usually the biggest problem in regards to not eating you mentioned your only had your tortoise for three weeks it could still be readjusting most don't take that long but it's not unheard of. Is your tortoise losing weight?

I'm a bit confused.
On your other thread you said she "was eating, moving around and seemed to be doing quite well".
How long without eating ?

Hi Avril:

The most common cause of "not eating" especially in young tortoises, is that they aren't warm enough.
