I am first time owner of a Sulcata Tortoise name Artemis :tort: I own other animals but this is definitely on a whole new level. However, the experience has been a blast! I am currently in the process of having a tortoise table built for her so I can get her out of the small 10 gallon tank that she has been in for the past few days. I have also started planning out an outdoor habit for when she is much bigger . This site has been very helpful through this entire process :) anyways enjoy pictures of Artemis with food stuck to her head haha

Hello and Welcome. Please be sure to read the thread about closed chamber. An open table is a terrible enclosure for a sully that needs high, 80% humidity.

I just got done reading about the closed chambers... Tom had it link in his thread, I am very happy this was brought to my attention. I am going to do more research on enclosed chambers. Until then I am going to buy a bigger tank just so she isn't in the small tank she is in now! Thank you guys so much ... it means alot :)

Save your money and buy a very large plastic storage tote box. They are much cheaper, will be able to be used for the closed chamber if you want and you can even connect them together by cutting matching holes in them and connecting them together with either a tub like for a tunnel or fix them together.

I am always up for saving money... I already have a huge storage tub so that works out even better. Thank you!

If you cut a hole in the lid, just a little smaller then the dome of the light fixture that will hold the MVB and/or che, and line the rim of that hole with tin foil, the hot bulb or che will not melt the plastic if you place the dome sitting on the lid with the bulb or Che over the hole.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!

Artemis has a very unique shell design. Very pretty tortoise.
