Is my turtle okay?

My turtle hasn't ate for the past 2 days and he has been sleeping since I woke up, I'm not sure if he's okay. He does move partially. I'm scared and I don't know if he's okay.
Things to know:
I found him from outside and took him in because he was missing a foot, I never brought him to a vet. When I first took him in, he moved around a lot and was very active, but he hasn't ate for 2 days and doesn't move that much now, just looks around. All he eat's is fish and worms, I'm not sure if that's good for him or not, he never wants to eat the pellets I got him. I even tried to feed him fruits and he doesn't seem to want to eat them. His shell seems to be shedding and he does seem to be growing. He also is getting a lot more color, he now has red and yellow markings on him.
I really hope he is okay and I just want help to know if he's okay.

Hi there.
happy to help, but would need to know where you are and as Brian says a photo would be most useful if that's possible for you, as we need to know the species and your enclosure set up.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!

In order to be able to give you good advice, we have to know what kind of turtle you've found. Can you post pictures of the turtle and his set-up?

Just so you know, it's really not a good idea to pick up and take home wild turtles. Most states have laws regarding that. But, we're not the turtle police. Only reason I said that was because it's sometimes hard to get a wild turtle to acclimate to captivity, so please post a picture.

He also has weird white stuff on him, I'm not sure what that is. I was planning on taken him to the vet today to see what the weird white stuff is, but now all this happened. He still hasn't woken up and here's a picture of what he looks like.

I think he's dead, he's not really breathing anymore and his bodies all hard. Next time I'll try and get one from the pet store.

I am so Sorry to hear that. ;(

Before you get another, take time to get to understand what a tortoise requires in order to be healthy and happy.

Please don't believe everything a pet store tells you. Many share outdated information as, sadly, do some breeders and vets.

We have some great guides here on TFO - just go to the forum for the species you are getting.

I'll start you off with

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know it's hard. I recently lost my little Indian star tortoise.

Judging by the missing foot and marks on his shell, seems like something tried to eat him. He probably succumbed to his wounds.

Do you like water turtles or land turtles/ tortoises?

thats a eastern painted turtle. some old bite marks on his shell. well you typically cannot expect wild caught turtles to start eating pellets right away.
if his eyes start sunken in the eye sockets, means hes really dead.
