I was wondering what the proper positioning for a UV lighting fixture a shallow type storage container. Been searching for a stand compatible with the linear fixture, so that it can be adjusted to the proper height. It will be for a baby Hermann's. Max bin height is about six and a half inches.

Also, since the bin will be located in a very sunny spot, could there be an issue with too much heat? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you can build a firm light stand yourself from wood?

I would definitely measure the temperature, it can get very hot in the sun behind a window. What do you use to control temperature and keep it warm enough when there is no sun? Do you have a thermostat?

Is the enclosure deep enough by the way? With a layer of substrate in it, 6.5 inch doesn't sound very deep... Make sure he cannot escape!

Thanks for clarifying things. I will purchase a thermostat in addition to getting a larger bin. I'll start looking at the 50 gallons with higher sides.

Bear in mind that I am an old lady with no formal training in carpentry. Here's a link to a thread where I show how I built a light stand:

If you don't want to build one, Zoo Med makes a really nice one. I have three Zoo Med light stands:
