Desert turtle hatchling

I need to know what my desert turtle hatchling should be eating. So far, all they are interested in is protein. Is that normal? Can I over feed them meal worms?

If it's a box turtle they are hard to tame ? Or wild capture?

Please show us a pic of your baby so that we can give you the correct advice. If you do have an omnivore or insectivore, then mealworms are not the best way to go.

First let's verify what species you have.
