Hi, I'm Fraser. I have 2 5ish year old eastern hermann's. I got them at the end of last summer and decided not to hibernate them due to my inexperience. Now that spring has arrived I have been building an outdoor enclosure and am looking good forward to my first full summer as a tortoise owner!

Hello, Fraser and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum.
Have a look at the care sheet here pinned to the top of the Hermann's tortoise section under The Mediterranean tortoises section.
It should give you some good information.
Remember, two tortoises together is not a good idea. They are territorial and solitary animals and they may fight or bully each other for the best food, the basking spot, and so on. They don't have friends. Keep a close eye on them, as tortoise bullying can be subtle and in slow motion , but will cause stress.
Have a look around the forum.
Don't hesitate if you have any questions.
Learn, contribute and have fun.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I have pics of my outdoor enclosure to share. Constructive feedback appreciated! I'll try to find a relevant thread to post onto.

Thanks, useful thoughts. I will look into this. Subtle bullying! That sounds very tricky to spot. Am I correct to think that if they are females they may be OK together?

You have a better chance at them not fighting if they are both females but that is not always the case. A nesting female can be very dominate

One more query, I am struggling to update my profile. Can't add photo or alter my birthday/age. I am using the app on Android. Any thoughts? I'm probably being daft

Don't know if android is the same but with my apple I can click on my own picture and it brings my profile up. From there I can click on my own picture again and it opens all the pictures from my phone. The birthday is set and only the member named Josh can change it.
