My Russian is very sick

Hi I'm new here.
My Russian is very sick. I'm in Japan but the reptile research in Japan is kinda slow.
I don't know this is the reason or not, my Russian has some tumors in her kidney and intestines.
The tumors pressures the intestines not to excrete.
So the doctor tried to take the tumors out but it's too many to take out so he couldn't do anything.
He said it may be cancer.
The cell of tumor was sent to lab to examin.
Is there a way to make my Russian to rescue?
I can't stand to watch her go weaken without nothing.

Hi and welcome. What a sad thing to hear. I know your not going to want to hear this, but if what the Vet said is true, I figure you have two options at best. One to try to make her comfortable as possible. The second option, the one I would go with, but the one that will be the hardest for you, is to allow the Vet to euthanize her. Not a happy option, but if she is as sick as the Vet says, then I don't believe she can be cured and is instead going to slowly die. She could be in pain and that's something I know you do not want for her. I am just so sorry I don't have better thoughts for you. *hugs*

I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but I have to agree with Jacqui. I would rather euthanize an animal that watch it suffer only to die anyway.

I thought this is the only choice I can do is to euthanize for her.
but it's very hard for me to make up my mind with the memories last 5 years.
I want to wait for the examinated result at this moment.

I gotta agree with jacqui and yvonne, It is a hard choice to make, but sometimes the best gift we can give an animal is a quick painless humane death, instead of a long slow one. Like IO said though not an easy choice to make, i wish you strength in making your choice.

I'm sorry about your little tortoise. I know it is a very difficult decision. I have had to make these decisions with dogs and cats, but not my tortoise. I hope you can find peace with your decision, and I hope your little tortoise doesn't hurt anymore.

My little nephews and niece love my tortoise called Miyuki.
When the last day comes to Miyuki, I want them to see Miyuki and give them a lesson about the lives.

I think that is a good idea. often kids first experience with life, sickness, and death is with a pet. it gives them respect for animals also. i'm very sorry about your tortoise.

Very sorry to have just read that your tort's very sick. It's heart-breaking I know, but I agree with what some of the members mentioned: death (be it of a person or an animal) could be a "solution" rather than suffering endlessly, believe me.
