I too have an adult male veiled. Like said above, lots of work. I would not get another veiled, lot meaner then the panthers from all the threads I have read about them. Check out chameleonforum.com. If you get a young one and work with it, handle it every day it will be friendly.
I care about healthy more than handling. Had fish didn't have touch then lol.Just learning about them. Very interesting to me. Panther and veil. Some of my pancakes like me handling, touching them, other bite.don't push it with the biters..any stories and keep infor , greatly wanted here.Ps. Have still two cakes eggs. Good ones. Thank you.

And what a cutie you have there. May I ask how old? A male? Very, very nice friend you have there. What is it like? Friendly or leave me alone. Would love some pet owner stories. Thank you for posting.

He's a male, just turned 3. He's super friendly, from what everyone tells me is rare. As soon as I walk in the room, he climbs over to the door of his cage, and just wants to climb up and sit on my shoulder. And he loves to have under his chin rubbed. The guy I got him from actually cried when he sold him to me because he said he had never had one as friendly as him (So i send the guy pictures and take him for visits a couple times a year).

Chams are so cool i have a family friend who breeds veilds. Some of her adults are wild caught from Florida. I may got one of the babies. any suggestions on maintaining their desired parameters and or tips in other categories like cage set up.

I have a panther, which from what I have been told are a little more durable as it relates to humidity/environment. We have his cage set up to have a hot top corner (96'ish) and then a cooler lower corner (about 75ish). I also have a cage for him on my screened in back porch so he can get some good Florida humidity, and set him up to get natural sun as well a few times a week.
