Cuttle fish bone
Does any1 use one of these within their enclosure? Are they a good idea?

Yes, lots of people use them for calcium, look for a feed store they are usually way cheaper there.

You can do either....I sprinkle calcium powder on their food once a week and then always have a whole bone sitting in the enclosure

Plus some tortoises will never touch them, some gobble them like candy, some seem to ignore it until one day they decide they need to use it. My thought is no matter which type of tortoise you have, it is an inexpensive and easy way to have some extra calcium available if and when the tortoise decides he wants/needs it. Also good for those beaks.
