Weather
The warm days of 2012 have come to an end, here in Utah.
I have moved all of my Torts and Turts to their indoor enclosures.
They will miss the fresh air and sunshine for the next 6-7 months.
Sad
Keep Warm TFO. Cool

RE: Weather
Ours in Chicago is almost gone too. We will have 77 degrees tomorrow, then 50's, yuk. However, the green house still give outside time as long as there is sun, so ya for the green house, just too bad the UVB can't get inSad

RE: Weather
Sad Same for us here summer days are gone been cold funky weather to cold for the torts but i did manage to get them out one last time yesterday in the sun for grazing and excersizing. Now its a cold gloomy day, was supose to warm up tomarrow but this is Michigan and weather is never right. I have greenhouses to one for all my tropical plants and one for all my cacti & succulents, the tropicals are already down in the winter grow room it got to cold for them 10 days back, now the cacti and succulents will be getting moved into the winter grow room, i cant afford to heat my GHs thru the winter so they all spend winter indoors. The leafs have changed on the trees and are now all falling off. The baby torts will deffinately miss there sunny outdoor grazing time.Sad

RE: Weather
I usually use the month of October to move all my plants and animals indoors. The tortoises go through the "ins and outs of Autumn" where they go in at night and back out during the day, right up until around Oct. 31st when we normally have our first frost. But I'm busy putting their pig blankets and lights back into their sheds. I'm hoping that by mounting the pads on the walls instead of the floor (like in the past) that I will be able to leave them mounted and not have to take them out in the spring and clean them. Hoping for a time saver and an electricity saver.

RE: Weather
I have to look into the pig blanket thingie. The Cherries come in at night now, the box turtles are slowing up and eating only three times a week now, the hibernation cave is done and the BT's are going in at night and Pio is so sad. When I'm home and cooking she sits in the sun wishing she was outside again.Sad

Hi Yvonne. No. I keep them all in the house where it's nice and cozy.
