Brains is getting a neighbor :)
We have begun digging out an 8' x 8' hole for the new enclosure Smile. It will be the same as brains home, except we are going to divide this one into two 4' x 8' enclosures for the babies. Hopefully it will be done by next week. I will update here Smile

RE: Brains is getting a neighbor :)
We dug out the first one and now second for two reasons. The first is to bury wire to prevent digouts. Secondly, with the foot underground the dirt stays nice and cool to dig in when it's hot.

Now that I think about it, there's a couple more too Smile. The whole thing is 2 feet high, instead of having a two foot high above ground, I like it better being only one foot above. We also just fill it back in with the same dirt that came out. The dirt here for the first six inches or so is very sandy, I like the consistency when you go deeper and churn it all together.

We were also able to put some gravel under the first one to help with drainage.

I guess that's more than two reasons! Lol

RE: Brains is getting a neighbor :)
We are going to be putting the babies in their larger permanent outdoor enclosure tomorrow! Still a bit to do, but we should be able to finish it in the morning Smile Here are some more pics Smile

We just have to finish putting the wire on top, we actually have three squares done, just one more left... Then some planting and decorating, the fun part!!
You can see from the pics that I also need to cutback some of brains' weeds... If only I had a sulcata to borrow Smile

The whole thing measures 16' x 8'. Brains has his own 8' x 8' section and each baby will have a 8' x 4', will post more pics once its decorated!

RE: Brains is getting a neighbor :)
I love your enclosures. You can use Brain's weeds to feed the babies until theirs come in!
