I have found (or suspect) the 'bubbles' or 'white squiggly circles' were part of the process in a growth spurt as this has been the case with my torts. I did get a bit panicky when I first saw it but after a bit of growth and usual soaks it disappears as soon as it seemed to develop.
I caught 1 of mine shimmying his way up a wall between a PVC pipe and the side of a shelf. When I found him he was about 6 inches up!

I personally would not rely on info I got on a forum for something like this... they could even prob. tell you what the crating requirements are.
