I'll look into them; the ones I've seen seem to be around 65 dollars and I would be willing to splurge a little. However, I would like to try the Powersun or SolarGlo first, so as far as benefits to the tortoise, they don't cause the same eye problems coil bulbs do, right?

I'm still confused about the UVB bulb situation. I want to avoid coil bulbs, but MVB seem to die or break easily according to other posts or reviews I've seen. Would these bulbs work...

I've never encountered something like this but what is her enclosure like? Is there anything that could stress her out (new food, change of temps, etc)?

I will buy a reflector bulb; does anyone have any suggestions on how to attach it? My enclosure has an open top. I also now plan on getting another CHE

My enclosure is 4' by 4'. The CHE is in a corner with the uvb bulb. Should I add another one?

Thanks for the quick reply Tom! I'm actually using a ceramic heat emitter. What does CFL stand for (sorry for the confusion)? I will definitely look into the bulbs.

The temperature here dropped drastically yesterday so my RT's basking spot was barely 75 degrees. I lowered the heat lamp but since the heat lamp and uvb bulb are attached to the same fixture, the uvb bulb is also closer. The two bulbs are about 8 or 9 inches away from Gobi. Is that too close?

On a similar note, feed less fruit if he has diarrhea, at least for the time being.

He does have an indoor enclosure because some days it's too cold to go outside, so he's completely safe at night.

Those plants are safe to eat but you should have a varied diet. I understand if you can't find any weeds because of the weather (depending on where you live) :)
