Your little one looks a little dry. You may want to try a substrate that will hold in a bit more moisture, like coco coir or orchid bark. How often do you soak him?
@Oxalis thank you! I just adopted her locally on Sunday from a family that has had her 14 years. I don't think they soaked her ever. I've soaked her a couple times and put her in a new habitat with reptibark and coconut fiber. How damp do you recommend keeping her substrate? I've read conflicting info on misting for adult Russian tortoises.
