I noticed that his eyes look sunken in. I've been given him soaks everyday. He ate well today but he doesn't seem really active. All the temperatures are fine 30-35c and humidity is at 60-70 and it goes up to 80 at night. I noticed his shell is a bit soft but only when i put a bit of pressure it is the first time i noticed this. He did go out of his way to eat some of his cuttlefish bone. I give him calcium with d3 on mondays and fridays. Today I caught him with his eyes closed under his basking lamp and also once with his head inside the shell. I've never seen him bothered by the lights today its a first. I have a feeling that he was sleeping but not to sure. My tortoise is a year old and weighs 149 grams, he hasn't lost any weight.

Hi Jay, I hope your tortoise is ok.
Continue soaks. They should help. If you post some pictures, others with more experience can tell you what they think.

Best of luck!

pictures are at the end of the information. I think he was just having a slow day as temperatures have dropped. Here in London we are having one day with 21c and it will be 11 the next day. It is driving crazy. It has been non stop raining for the last month!. He seems active enough now, I'm thinking of supplementing with arcadias earthpro a.

How old is the bulb ? I ask this because they don`t produce much UVB rays when they get older.

That is not old, but I would change it to a new one. The soft touch of the shell of your tortoise scares me.
its not soft like jelly. It I press down at the edges of the shell it is flexible. Similar to bending a human nail

Oh sorry, I read your tort is a year old. It should not have a flexible shell at that age.
What are your night temps ? Is it possible that it is too cold ? Cold and humid causes problems.
