More than soil bedding, my Tojo loves to roam about and doze off on carpets and towels and pillows. It's humid and hot here. Can I let him be outside his enclosure and onto the carpet flooring for few hours during the day?
He should not be allowed to roam your house floors, it's way too dangerous.
As for outside, about an half hour a day for his size making sure he has shade
Be sure you are housing him in a closed chamber with high humidity.
It's sometimes hard for us mammals to treat reptiles like anything but another mammal. Like a puppy. But for their own good they need to be housed and kept inside a suitable enclosure of their own.
