Hello forum,
I have a indian star tortoise, he is male of age 3/4 months. I am making sure to give him proper required care but he seems to be less active and mostly sleeps almost everyday.
We live in Flat where there is no option of grass but I make sure to provide UV AB light for basking.

What can I do to make him active so he can play around and grow better.

Hello!
As with any other reptile, he needs controlled environment (temperatures, lightning and humidity) to stay active and healthy. This means he needs a properly set up enclosure (free roaming on the floor is not option - he will get sick and die and there is a high risk of a terrible accident, like being hit by door or eating wrong stuff).

You need to make him his own space, filled with proper substrate (like orchid bark or coco coir), heated so temperatures stay above 80F night and day and humid enough (around 80%) to prevent dehydration and shell deformity (pyramiding). Aim to make it as large as you can, but 4x2 feet will be enough for year or two.

What kind of UVB lamp do you have? Unfortunately not all of them are safe or effective.

This thread contains all basic information on tortoise care: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/info-for-new-people-please-read-this-first.202363/ (also there is a link to a care sheet for star tortoises at the end of it). This is a long read, but necessary if you wish to keep your tortoise alive and happy.

We'll be happy to answer any questions you have and advise on some topics, so please stay in touch.
